For a more balance approach to fitness you can alternate exercise programs to reap more health benefits.  Alternating flexibility based fitness programs like yoga with a resistance based program that use weights or resistance bands to build muscle.  Muscle burns more calories than fat so in building muscle you are improving your ability to burn calories.
